Story

As many of you will know, in 2016 our family received the devastating news that my dad, Brian, had been diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND). Dad steadily lost the ability to walk, stand, do anything with his hands and arms, speak, eat and drink. Despite it all, dad was determined to remain as positive as possible and never lost his silly sense of humour that we all so dearly loved him for.

In February 2018, dad lost his battle with MND and was freed from this terrible disease. Dad was the life and soul of the party, the glue that held our family together. He was an inspiration to us all and will remain in our hearts forever.

One of the things on dad's bucket list was to do a skydive. Unfortunately, the disease stopped him from making this dream a reality. So, on Father's Day this year, I'll be doing a skydive in memory of my amazing dad.

The money raised will contribute to the Brian Martin Hughes Tribute Fund, creating a lasting memory of my dad. You can find his Tribute Fund here: https://brian-martin-hughes.muchloved.com/frame.aspx?cac=1

I hope that the money and awareness I raise will eventually help find a cure for the disease and stop many families going through what we have been through. Of course, this will take years, maybe even decades. Every penny and every pound counts so, please donate any amount that you can, so that one day we will live in a world free from MND.

Instead of receiving cards or gifts for my birthday this year, I would greatly appreciate any donation, little or large, to help raise vital funds for MNDA in memory of my wonderful dad.
